I feel very lucky to live in a city that can support a festival like this one. There is no point in preserving beautiful films if no one can see them. This festival is populated by a real community of people who love these films, fight to preserve and restore them and really push for them to have public screenings. It is exciting to see these pieces of history projected onto a giant screen, especially one as storied and decadent as the Castro Theatre. ![]() ![]() My fondness for silent film grows more every year because of the San Francisco Silent Film Festival.
